Cookie and GDPR Policy

How we use site cookies

Our website uses cookies to provide essential functionality. Once you give us permission to do so, our website will also:

  • Track and save vehicle search data, linked to your device via an anonymous and random code or, with your consent, to your email address.
  • Enable Google Analytics.
  • Enable data collection via third-party link-sharing services.
  • Enable data collection via live chat services.

We securely store your personal data, such as your name and email address, on our web servers to support features like the “favourites” functionality and to manage our mailing lists. This data is saved in a secure database and is never shared with or transferred to any third party without your explicit consent. With your consent, we also collect information on the vehicles you search for, allowing us to send you personalised emails based on your interests. These emails may include information or offers related to vehicles you’ve searched for, but you can unsubscribe from these communications at any time.

We track and save your vehicle search data both anonymously and, with your permission, linked to your email address. We will only associate this data with your email address if you have agreed to do so via the cookie permissions popup. This allows us to personalise our communications with you and send you emails that may be of interest based on your previous searches. However, you may unsubscribe from these emails at any time, and your preference will be respected immediately.

We use Google Analytics to track visitor data trends and general usage statistics. We do not collect any personal information via these cookies other than your IP address. This information is automatically deleted 14 months after your last visit to our website.

The rules about cookies on websites have changed. If you are uncomfortable with the use of cookies, you can disable cookies on your computer by changing the settings in the preferences or options menu in your browser. You can set your browser to reject or block cookies or to tell you when a website tries to put a cookie on your computer. You can also delete any cookies that are already stored on your computer’s hard drive. However, please be aware that if you do delete and block all cookies from our website, parts of the site may not work. Likewise, you may not be able to use some products and services on other websites without cookies.

Email Marketing Communications, Tracking, and GDPR

Should you choose to opt-in to our direct marketing communications, we will use your information to inform you about our products and services that might interest you. To monitor the effectiveness of our email marketing campaigns, we employ analytics tracking in the following ways:

  • Email Read; this involves the use of a ‘clear image’ (gif) to track email campaign reads. Users have the option to disable tracking by turning off images in the email.
  • Clicks; if a subscriber clicks a weblink within our email, the specifics of the clicked link, along with the date and time of the click, are automatically sent to our analytics.
  • Unsubscribes; if a user opts to unsubscribe by clicking the unsubscribe link, their email address is immediately removed from our database and added to our suppression list to avoid accidental future mailings. The date and time of the unsubscribe action are also recorded.

You reserve the right to opt-out of our email marketing communications at any time. Opting out can be done by following the Unsubscribe instructions at the end of the communication or by reaching out to us via phone, letter, or email.

We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected and that your data is handled securely and responsibly. To safeguard your information, we implement various security measures, including encryption and access controls, to prevent unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure of your data.

If you have any concerns about how your data is used or stored, or if you have any other privacy-related queries, please do not hesitate to contact us at legal@availvehiclecontracts.co.uk. We are here to assist you with any questions or requests you may have regarding your privacy.
